This article from NPR is interesting. So let’s consider the things we think we know: Fibre prevents colon cancer. Fibre prevents heart disease. We almost take these things for granted. But should we?

So, it turns out that the link to fibre and colon cancer is tenuous at best. And the link to heart disease prevention and more fibre might be even weaker.

Though I don’t mean to try and argue that you shouldn’t get fibre in your diet, this certainly begs the question “Is this fibre stuff really the answer?”.

Either way, one thing is certain.  There are far too many unhealthy, disease-causing foods on the market that put themselves out there as healthy because they contain fibre.
